Uma viagem pela paz no Oriente Médio

O Brasil vai se posicionar como interlocutor na busca pela paz no Oriente Médio. Esse é um dos principais objetivos do presidente Lula que inicia, no próximo sábado (13/3), visita oficial a Israel, Palestina e Jordânia. A informação é do porta-voz da Presidência da República, Marcelo Baumbach, ao detalhar as atividades da primeira viagem oficial de um presidente brasileiro àquela região.

De acordo com a agenda, o primeiro compromisso oficial do presidente Lula acontece na segunda-feira (15/3) com o presidente de Israel, Shimon Peres. Depois, Lula participa de seminário empresarial no qual pretende reforçar o fluxo comercial entre os dois países. Na mesma data, Lula se encontra com a líder da oposição Tzipi Livni. À tarde, o brasileiro reúne-se com representantes da sociedade civil israelense e palestina em Jerusalém Oriental. Lula visita o parlamento (Knesset) israelense e terá audiência com o primeiro-ministro Benjamin Netanyahu.
No dia seguinte, o presidente visitará o Museu do Holocausto (Yad Vashem) e, num bosque ao lado do museu, participa da cerimônia de plantio de árvore. A terça-feira contempla encontro com a delegação da Universidade Hebraica, audiências a Amos Oz e ao ex-primeiro ministro Ehud Olmert. À tarde, a comitiva se desloca para Belém, quando está previsto encontro com o presidente da Autoridade Nacional Palestina, Mahmoud Abbas, e encerramento de seminário empresarial Brasil-Palestina.
Na quarta-feira (17/3), ainda segundo a agenda, Lula segue para Ramalá onde vista escola beneficiada por projeto de cooperação brasileiro. Está prevista também visita ao Mausoléu de Yasser Arafat, assinaturas de atos e declaração à imprensa. Ao término das atividades na Palestina, a delegação segue para Amã, na Jordânia. Naquele país, Lula terá encontro privado com o rei Abdullah II e a rainha Rania da Jordânia.
No último dia da visita (18/3), Lula será recebdo pelo presidente do Senado jordaniano, Taher Masri, e se reunirá com o primeiro-ministro Samir Rifai. Em seguida, Lula participa do encerramento do seminário empresarial Brasil-Jordânia. Após o compromisso, a delegação retorna para o Brasil. De acordo com o porta-voz do governo brasileiro, as reuniões empresariais terão foco nos segmentos de infraestrutura, energia, farmacêutico e agronegócio.
