UHE Belo Monte, uma espera de 25 anos

Durante cerca de 25 anos, o engenheiro José Antonio Muniz acompanhou estudos, preparou documentos e liderou movimento pela construção da Usina Hidrelétrica Belo Monte, no rio Xingu, no Pará. Hoje, na condição de presidente da Eletrobrás -- holding do setor elétrico que comandará o projeto -, Muniz traça os planos para que o empreendimento comece a funcionar, gerando energia que permitirá o desenvolvimento econômico na região de Altamira (PA) e ajudará no suprimento de eletricidade para o Brasil.
Muniz chegou cedo ao Palácio do Planalto nesta quinta-feira (26/8), onde ocorre cerimônia de assinatura da concessão do aproveitamento da usina para o consórcio Norte Energia, vencedor do leilão. Ele conversou com o Blog do Planalto e revelou que o empreendimento terá a participação das mais diversas construtoras do País. Isso, segundo ele, ocorrerá porque as obras de Belo Monte não estarão restritas a um único canteiro.
“Hoje é um dia histórico para o setor elétrico brasileiro. A usina Belo Monte será fundamental para o desenvolvimento do país”, disse Muniz na entrevista. Confira:

As contas do setor público fecharam o mês de julho com superávit de R$ 2,5 bilhões, o pior resultado para o mês desde o início da série histórica do Banco Central (BC), em 2002, quando atingiu R$ 3,6 bilhões.
De acordo com dados divulgados nesta quinta-feira pelo BC, nos primeiros sete meses de 2010 o acumulado do ano é superavitário em R$ 42,6 bilhões, ou 2,14% do Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) brasileiro, contra R$ 38,4 bilhões registrado nos primeiros sete meses de 2009.
O gasto com juros nominais alcançou R$ 16,8 bilhões em julho de 2010, valor R$ 1 bilhão maior que o registrado no mês anterior. Segundo o BC, esse aumento se deve ao maior número de dias úteis em julho que em junho. No acumulado de janeiro a julho, o gasto com juros nominais chegou a R$ 108 bilhões, ou 5,43% do PIB, valor 0,2 ponto percentual maior que o registrado nos sete primeiros meses de 2009.
A dívida líquida do governo em julho subiu em relação a junho. No mês passado, a dívida atingiu R$ 1,4 trilhão, ou 41,7% do PIB. O valor foi 0,3 ponto percentual maior que o registrado no mês anterior. O BC atribui o baixo desempenho principalmente à desvalorização cambial de 2,5% no mês.
