O mercado não resolve tudo; cabe ao Estado cuidar de quem precisa

Um debate superado, com gosto de “coisa mofada”, está para começar, avisou o presidente Lula em cerimônia realizada nesta terça-feira (9/2) em Governador Valadares (MG) para a inauguração de obras do PAC Saneamento e Habitação. Segundo ele, adversários do governo estão retomando, pela imprensa, um discurso antiquado de que o governo tem inchado o Estado.
A questão, afirma Lula, está superada. O mercado não resolve tudo, como ficou provado na crise econômica mundial, em que países de todo o mundo recorreram ao Estado para não quebrarem, e o Estado tem o dever de se preocupar com os mais necessitados do País. Sem ele, avisou o presidente, não haveria programas como Luz para Todos, ProJovem e outros, que atendem justamente aos que mais precisam.
“Não quero o estado administrador, mas quero o Estado indutor e fiscalizador. (…) O Estado tem que contratar mais médico, mais agente de saúde, professores e técnicos”, disse o presidente em seu discurso. Um pouco antes, o ministro da Educação, Fernando Haddad, também reforçou a ideia, afirmando que se contratar professores é inchar a máquina, então quer mais é ver essa máquina ‘explodindo’.

Lula prometeu muitos investimentos em educação para Governador Valadares. Em junho, afirmou, voltará à cidade para inaugurar um Instituto Federal de Ensino Técnico (Ifet) e está só aguardando a prefeitura local ceder um terreno para dar início ao projeto de construir uma universidade na região. Ao investir em educação, a cidade poderá voltar a crescer porque vai ter mais mão-de-obra qualificada, atraindo o interesse de empresas. “Temos que provocar a inteligência desta cidade”, disse Lula. “Não existe milagre, existe competência e vontade de criar as coisas.”
Lula prometeu gerar muitos empregos em Governador Valadares, lembrando que o orçamento da União prevê mais de R$ 132 milhões para urbanização de favelas, coleta de esgoto e saneamento básico. É preciso, disse o presidente, trabalhar junto com os governos do estado e do município para encontrar as melhores oportunidades para a região, promovendo assim “um novo ciclo de crescimento”.
