Cercado por moradores quando percorria uma das ruas do município de Palmares (PE), o presidente Lula informou que visitava a região junto com ministros e auxiliares para que pudessem levantar os prejuízos causados pelas enchentes nos estados de Alagoas e Pernambuco. Lula se comprometeu no processo de reconstrução das cidades que sofreram com a catástrofe.

A Secretaria Nacional de Defesa Civil (Sedec) divulgou balanço dos estragos em 67 cidades de Pernambuco. As vítimas fatais chegam a 37. Lá, 26.200 moradores estão desabrigados e 53.518 desalojados. Além disso, 2.103 quilômetros de estradas foram danificados.

Ex-petista Ivo Patarra compilou cronologia do escândalos políticos
Durante cinco anos, o jornalista Ivo Patarra recolheu e editou o material produzido durante os 403 dias do escândalo do mensalão. O resultado da pesquisa está no livro “O Chefe”, uma publicação independente.
Patarra é ex-petista, foi assessor de comunicação social da ex-prefeita Luiza Erundina (gestão 1989-1992), também ex-petista. Trabalhou nos jornais Folha, “Folha da Tarde”, “Diário Popular” e “Jornal da Tarde”.
Em entrevista exclusiva para a Livraria da Folha, o autor diz ter se decepcionado com o partido após os escândalos de corrupção, pois o PT prometeu por 20 anos fazer política com honestidade. O partido acabou protagonizando “o maior escândalo de corrupção que se tem notícia no Brasil em todos os tempos”, afirmou.
O volume sintetiza o trabalho desenvolvido pelo Ministério Público, Polícia Federal, Comissões Parlamentares de Inquérito, Congresso Nacional, Tribunal de Contas da União, Controladoria-Geral da União, Tribunal Superior Eleitoral e apurações realizadas pela imprensa nacional.
Na segunda parte da entrevista, Patarra revelou qual foi o momento que mais o chocou durante as investigações.
Para o autor, o fato de as acusações terem iniciado por uma divergência de interesses entre os envolvidos é um evento raro e crucial para história, devido a sua característica incomum.
O livro também aborda o caso Celso Daniel, prefeito de Santo André assassinado em 2002, o pedido de prisão de Antonio Palocci, ex-ministro da Fazenda, e o medo do impeachment.

No plebiscito sobre o desarmamento, todos os institutos “erraram” por muito, como “erraram” por muito, recentemente, na Colômbia.
