Integração é a melhor arma contra a ilegalidade e o crime

Ou fazemos a integração da produção, do trabalho, da educação e da saúde para todos, ou a integração será a da ilegalidade, do crime do tráfico de drogas e de armas, afirmou o presidente Lula em seu discurso no encerramento do seminário Brasil-Paraguai: Perspectivas de Comércio e Investimentos na Fronteira, realizado nesta segunda-feira (3/5) em Ponta Porã (MS). Lula voltou a defender o aprofundamento do Mercosul como poderoso instrumento de integração da América do Sul, sendo necessário para isso avançar na eliminação da dupla cobrança da tarifa externa comum e atuar pela plena incorporação da Venezuela ao bloco.
Ao Brasil interessa a prosperidade e a estabilidade de nossos vizinhos. Não nos convém ser uma ilha de prosperidade num oceano revolto. Nossa cooperação será fundamental para derrotar a criminalidade, tenha ela a cara que tiver.

Lula destacou o simbolismo de se realizar a reunião na fronteira entre Paraguai e Brasil e citou a Declaração Conjunta de 25 de julho de 2009 que reafirma a centralidade de Itaipu como fator de integração entre os dois países. Segundo o presidente brasileiro, “demos mais um passo nessa direção ao definir os mecanismos para a construção da linha de transmissão entre a margem direita de Itaipu e a cidade de Villa Hayes. Isso permitirá que o Paraguai utilize a energia que lhe cabe na produção global de Itaipu para sua industrialização e bem estar de sua população”.
A regulamentação do Regime de Tributação Unificada também foi defendida, para atrair mais investimentos produtivos do Brasil ao Paraguai e dar maior equilíbrio à balança comercial entre os dois países. O comércio bilateral, lembrou Lula, foi 60% superior neste primeiro trimestre de 2010 em relação ao mesmo período do ano passado, num claro sinal de recuperação da atividade comercial entre os dois países.
