Dia de consciência, respeito e tolerância

Hoje é dia de festa em Salvador. A cidade será palco da maior comemoração do Dia Nacional da Consciência Negra, data de morte de Zumbi, líder do Quilombo dos Palmares, e contará com a presença do presidente Lula, que chegou ontem à capital baiana. A data faz parte da luta pela valorização da cultura afro-brasileira e respeito às diferenças. Clique aqui para ver a programação de atividades em 757 cidades brasileiras.

Na noite de ontem (19/11), Lula se reuniu com o presidente da Autoridade Nacional Palestina, Mahmoud Abbas, no Palácio de Ondina, residência oficial do governo da Bahia, para um jantar. Na manhã desta sexta-feira (20/11), Lula e Abbas terão reunião de trabalho no Museu da Misericórdia, para conversar sobre a paz entre palestinos e israelenses e a criação de um Estado Palestino. O Brasil quer participar do diálogo de busca da paz, conforme manifestou Lula durante encontro com Shimon Peres na semana passada, em Brasília. Após a reunião privada, os presidentes Lula e Abbas vão assinar atos e conversar com a imprensa.
À tarde (17h30) o presidente vai ao ato público de comemoração do Dia Nacional da Consciência Negra, na Praça Castro Alves. A escolha do local não foi uma coincidência. O poeta Castro Alves ficou conhecido como “poeta dos escravos” por denunciar e condenar as injustiças que os negros sofriam no Brasil.

Além de ver shows de artistas locais, o presidente Lula vai assinar 30 decretos para a titulação de comunidades de quilombos de 14 estados. A relação das comunidades está disponível aqui. Também será lançado o Selo Quilombola, marca para os produtos artesanais criados por comunidades de remanescentes de quilombos como forma de agregar identidade cultural e valor econômico ao que produzem.

A Rifa do Burro.
Certa vez quatro meninos foram ao campo e, por 100 cruzeiros, compraram o burro de um velho camponês. O homem combinou entregar-lhes o animal no dia seguinte.
Mas quando eles voltaram para levar o burro, o camponês lhes disse:
- Sinto muito, amigos, mas tenho uma má notícia. O burro morreu.
- Então devolva-nos o dinheiro!
- Não posso, já o gastei todo.
- Então, de qualquer forma, queremos o burro.
- E para que o querem? O que vão fazer com ele?
- Nós vamos rifá-lo.
- Estão loucos? Como vão rifar um burro morto?
- Obviamente, não vamos dizer a ninguém que ele está morto.
Um mês depois, o camponês se encontrou novamente com os quatro garotos e lhes perguntou:
- E então, o que aconteceu com o burro?
- Como lhe dissemos, o rifamos. Vendemos 500 números a 2 cruzeiros cada um; e arrecadamos 1.000 cruzeiros.
- E ninguém se queixou?
- Só o ganhador, porém lhe devolvemos os 2 cruzeiros, e pronto.
Os quatro meninos cresceram:
Um, fundou o banco chamado Rural
O outro, uma empresa de publicidade chamada SMP&B.
O outro uma igreja chamada Universal.
E outro, um partido político chamado PT.

Um grupo de parlamentares contrários à extradição do ex-ativista italiano Cesare Battisti encaminhou nesta sexta-feira ao Planalto um pedido de audiência com o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. O objetivo dos parlamentares é tentar convencer o chefe do Executivo a decidir pela não extradição de Battisti.
O refúgio político concedido a Battisti em janeiro foi dado pelo ministro da Justiça, Tarso Genro.
De acordo com a assessoria do senador José Nery (Psol-PA), autor do ofício, o grupo de 16 pessoas quer convencer Lula a decidir pela manutenção do refúgio do italiano.
