Com sanção de PL, Petrobras está pronta para explorar petróleo do Pré-sal

O presidente Lula sancionou nesta quarta-feira (30/6) projeto de lei que, na prática, cria as condições para que a Petrobras possa explorar as novas jazidas de petróleo da camada pré-sal. Participaram da cerimônia realizada no Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, em Brasília, o presidente da Petrobras, José Sérgio Gabrielli, e o ministro de Minas e Energia, Márcio Zimmermann.
O projeto prevê cessão onerosa por parte da União à Petrobras de até 5 bilhões de barris de petróleo e gás natural, em áreas ainda não concedidas do Pré-sal. O pagamento dos barris será feito preferencialmente com títulos da dívida pública.
A lei nasceu de projeto enviado pelo governo ao Congresso em agosto de 2009. Para o Poder Executivo, conforme exposição de motivos que acompanhava o texto, a proposta criava “as condições para a exploração do pré-sal, otimizando a participação da sociedade brasileira nas receitas decorrentes das riquezas representadas por esta importante e singular descoberta É indiscutível que a imediata exploração dessas áreas pela Petrobras é vantajosa para a União, posto que permite à sociedade, em última instância, antecipar o usufruto dos benefícios representados pelo pré-sal”.
