A experiência da política social do Brasil

Na entrevista coletiva que concedeu, nesta terça-feira (29/6), na sede da Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo (Fiesp), o presidente Lula voltou a afirmar que jamais postulou ser secretário-geral da ONU. Ele explicou que o cargo deve ser ocupado por um técnico. A questão apresentada pelo repórter Ricardo Lessa, da GloboNews, foi suscitada a partir de artigo do presidente Lula publicado no jornal londrino Financial Times e que resultou em interpretações equivocadas na mídia brasileira – veja aqui a nossa resposta a essas elocubrações.
O que disse foi exatamente o seguinte: nos adquirimos nestes oito anos um acumulo em política social. Há uma coisa muito rica. O quanto é barato a gente cuidar dos pobres. Disse que tenho interesse em dedicar um espaço do meu tempo para trocar ideias com eles sobre a experiência do Brasil. Essas coisas têm que ser feitas com muito cuidado.
Segundo Lula, o cargo de secretário-geral da ONU não pode ser exercido por alguém que seja político, pois ele “é um empregado” dos países que estão associados ao organismo internacional. O presidente brasileiro disse também que não tratou no encontro com Silvio Berlusconi, primeiro-ministro da Itália, sobre eleição.

Na entrevista, ele buscou dar ênfase ao comércio bilateral e que Brasil e Itália podem atingir uma corrente comercial superior a US$ 30 bilhões. Lula acha psosível também a formação de joint venture para colcoar produtos que atendam aos países mais pobres. O brasileiro informou que até o término de seu mandato pretende participar da reunião do G-20, em Seul, na Coreia do Sul, por acredita que possa ser estabelecido acordo para a rodada de Doha.
Lula informou também que vai decidir sobre o processo de extradição do italiano Cesare Battisti quando a Advocacia-Geral da União (AGU) entregar parecer sobre a decisão do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF). O presidente afirmou que espera que sua decisão não provoque arranhões nas relaçõesentre os dois países.
